The short answer is that exercise, in moderation, is almost certainly good for your hair but the relationship is more nuanced than a yes or no. A Practical Approach to Exercise When You Care About Your Hair
A reasonable, hair-friendly routine looks a lot like a reasonable, longevity-friendly routine. Three or four sessions of resistance training per week, two to three sessions of moderate cardiovascular work, real recovery days, enough protein and total calories to support training, and consistent sleep. None of that is exotic. It is just what works.
Where people tend to run into trouble is at the extremes: not enough movement, or too much movement on top of not enough food, sleep, or recovery. Both ends of that spectrum quietly tax the follicles.
